The Liberty softball team placed three players on the D1Softball Postseason D100 Player Rankings.Â
Â
Â
Liberty senior outfielder Rachel Roupe was listed 30th, while senior pitcher Elena Escobar was No. 88 and senior outfielder KK Madrey, 99th.Â
Â
Â
Liberty's three honorees are the most of any team outside of the Power Four Conferences. National champion Texas led all teams with seven players on the list, followed by six from Arizona and five each from Arkansas, Oklahoma and UCLA. Florida, Florida State, Oregon and Texas A&M all had four honorees, while Liberty was tied with LSU, Stanford and Virginia Tech with three each.Â
Â
Â
All three of these players were named NFCA All-Region players while all three were named to the CUSA All-Conference first team. Roupe was the 2025 CUSA Player of the Year and Escobar was 2025 CUSA Pitcher of the Year.
Roupe was named NFCA All-American third team while also receiving the Rawlings Gold Glove Award.Â
Â
Â
A four-time all-conference outfielder, 2025 CUSA Player of the Year Rachel Roupe saved her best season for last. Roupe batted .390 for the season while leading all CUSA players with 19 doubles, 23 homers and 73 RBI. She is tied for seventh in NCAA Division I softball in homers (23), 11th in RBI (73), fifth in total bases (166) and 11th in doubles (19). In conference play, Roupe led all CUSA hitters in batting average (.486), slugging percentage (1.149), OPS (1.745), runs (27), home runs (13) and RBI (39). This year, Roupe became the first player to be named CUSA Softball Player of the Week five times in a single season.
Â
Â
Elena Escobar backed up her stellar junior campaign with an even better senior season. She has posted a 25-4 record with seven shutouts overall while ranking first in CUSA in overall wins (25), second in strikeouts (177) and third in ERA (2.53). In conference play, Escobar was a perfect 12-0 with a 1.33 ERA, leading all CUSA pitchers in conference-only ERA (1.33) and opponents' batting average (.168). Escobar was nearly unhittable in the CUSA Championship, going 3-0 with two shutouts. She then earned the victory in all three of Liberty's wins at the NCAA Bryan-College Station Regional.Â
Â
Â
Madrey had an amazing senior season, playing an elite center field while also serving as one of the top basestealers in the nation. The center fielder was named to both the NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region first team and CUSA All-Conference first team. She stole a program-record 50 bases, ranking second among all NCAA Division I softball players. Madrey is ranked second in CUSA in conference-only batting average (.430) and third in overall batting average (.402). She is the first Lady Flame since 2007 to finish with a .400 batting average or better.
Â
Â
The Lady Flames finished the season with a 50-15 record, setting a new program record for single-season victories. Liberty won both the Conference USA regular-season and tournament titles for the second year in a row. The team made history at the 2025 NCAA Bryan-College Station Regional, winning two out of three games against No. 1 Texas A&M to earn its first-ever Super Regional appearance. The Lady Flames were the first team in the Super Regional era to knock out the No. 1 national seed in the Regional round.
