
Liberty Earns Quick 8-0 Win Over FIU

LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 25 Liberty made quick work of FIU on Saturday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium, earning an 8-0, five-inning victory.
The Lady Flames (43-11) improve to 22-3 in CUSA play with one game remaining in the regular season. Liberty clinched the No. 1 seed for the CUSA Softball Championship last week. The Panthers fall to 29-21-1, 11-14-1 in conference games.
At one hour and 17 minutes, today's game was Liberty's quickest game of the season to date.

- The Lady Flames scored one run in each of the first three innings before erupting for a five-run fourth inning that included RBI from Savannah Jessee (RBI single), Savannah Woodard (RBI single), Rachel Roupe (sacrifice fly) and Brynn McManus (two-run homer).
- Elena Escobar finished off her two-hit shutout with a scoreless fifth inning.Â
- Liberty outhit FIU 7-2 for the game. The Panthers left three runners on base compared to two stranded by the Lady Flames.
