Liberty senior outfielder Rachel Roupe has been named to the D1Softball All-America Team as a second team selection.
A total of 36 players received D1Softball All-American honors, including 18 each on first and second teams, respectively. The entire first team was comprised of players from Power Four Conferences, while Roupe, North Florida's Allison Benning, Nevada's Aaliyah Jenkins and Belmont's Maya Johnson are the only four second team All-Americans from schools outside of the Power Four.
Roupe, a native of Sharpsburg, Md., is the third All-American in program history, joining Jessica Moore (Easton Fastpitch All-American 2nd team, 2007) and Kelly Strickland (Easton Fastpitch All-American 3rd team, 2011).Â
Last week, Roupe was named to the Softball America All-America Second Team. Tomorrow, she will find out whether she has been named to the NFCA All-American Team.Â
The postseason honors continue for Roupe, who was named the 2025 CUSA Player of the Year while also appearing on the CUSA All-Conference first team, NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region first team and CUSA All-Academic Team.
A four-time all-conference outfielder, 2025 CUSA Player of the Year Rachel Roupe has saved her best season for last. Roupe batted .390 for the season while leading all CUSA players with 19 doubles, 23 homers and 73 RBI. She is tied for seventh in NCAA Division I softball in homers (23), 11th in RBI (73), fifth in total bases (166) and 11th in doubles (19). In conference play, Roupe led all CUSA hitters in batting average (.486), slugging percentage (1.149), OPS (1.745), runs (27), home runs (13) and RBI (39). This year, Roupe became the first player to be named CUSA Softball Player of the Week five times in a single season.
Roupe helped the Lady Flames make history by earning their first-ever Super Regional berth. Liberty won two out of three games against No. 1 Texas A&M, and her three-run homer in the sixth inning of Sunday's winner-take-all final proved to be the difference. In two games against the top-ranked Aggies on May 18, Roupe went a combined 5-for-9 with three homers, nine RBI and three runs scored.
The Lady Flames finished the season with a 50-15 record, setting a new program record for single-season victories. Liberty won both the Conference USA regular-season and tournament titles for the second year in a row. The team made history at the 2025 NCAA Bryan-College Station Regional, winning two out of three games against No. 1 Texas A&M to earn its first-ever Super Regional appearance. The Lady Flames were the first team in the Super Regional era to knock out the No. 1 national seed in the Regional round.
