The CUSA-leading Lady Flames improve to 38-10 on the season, including 17-3 in CUSA play. Meanwhile, the Bearkats fall to 24-23, 12-9 in conference play. These two teams split the first two games, with Liberty claiming game one 9-4 on Thursday and Sam Houston responding with a 3-1 win yesterday.

Turning Point
- Liberty scored three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, on RBI singles by Savannah Woodard and Rachel Roupe and a sacrifice fly from Brynn McManus.
- The Lady Flames led 7-1 entering the seventh inning. After the Bearkats narrowed the gap to 7-2 with a Hallie Day RBI double, Paige Bachman entered in relief of Elena Escobar. Sam Houston scored two unearned runs and had the bases loaded with two outs, trailing 7-4. Samantha Graeter sent a grounder into the hole at short, with Liberty shortstop JaMaya Byrum making an athletic fielder's choice for the game-ending out.
- Liberty outhit Sam Houston 12-6 for the game. The Lady Flames left seven runners on base, compared to six stranded for the Bearkats.
- Escobar (17-3) earned the win, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits, walking one and striking out eight in six innings. Bachman pitched one inning of one-hit relief.
- Kendall Daniel (6-6) drew the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out two in two innings before giving wat to relief.
- Rachel Craine went 3-for-3 with a double, while Savannah Woodard went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Rachel Roupe hit 2-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Brynn McManus went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. KK Madrey went 1-for-4, while Alyssa Henault and Lilly Heidorn both scored one run each as substitutes.
- For Sam Houston, Morgan Holliday went 2-for-3 with a homer, one RBI and one run.
- Liberty leads Sam Houston 4-3 in the all-time series.
- This was just the fourth time in 15 CUSA series that Liberty has needed a decisive third game. The Lady Flames are 4-0 in CUSA rubber matches since joining the conference last year and have won all 15 CUSA series to date.

- Craine recorded her fourth career three-hit game and first since April 15, 2023 against Stetson.
- Escobar set a new personal best with 17 wins this season, passing her season total from last year. Her 17 wins so far this season are tied for the 10th most in a single season in program history.
- Liberty has already won as many games (38) as the team did in the entire 2024 season.
The Lady Flames return to the road for their next four games, beginning with a Conference USA series at Louisiana Tech, Friday through Sunday in Ruston, La.
