RUSTON, La. – Liberty went ahead with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, rallying for a 6-2 win over Louisiana Tech at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field.
The Lady Flames (39-10) improve to 18-3 in CUSA play. Liberty needs just one more conference win this season to claim back-to-back Conference USA regular-season titles. Louisiana Tech, currently in second place in league standings, falls to 29-19, 14-8 after seeing its five-game winning streak end.

Turning Point
- Liberty trailed 2-1 heading into the fifth inning. The Lady Flames capitalized on three LA Tech errors during the inning, with Rachel Roupe's two-run homer providing the exclamation point and staking Liberty to a 5-2 lead.
- The Lady Flames led 6-2 in the bottom of the sixth. Paige Bachman came on in relief of Kaylan Yoder, getting out of a bases-loaded jam.Â
- Liberty outhit LA Tech 7-6 for the game, with the Lady Flames scoring five unearned runs on four Bulldog errors.
- Yoder (8-4) earned the win, allowing two runs on six hits, walking two and fanning one in five innings. Bachman picked up her third save of the season with two innings of hitless relief, walking two and striking out three.
- Allie Floyd (20-10) drew the loss, allowing five runs (one earned) on four hits, with two walks and three strikeouts in five innings before giving way to Alyssa Martin.
- Rachel Roupe went 2-for-4 with two homers, three RBI and two runs scored, while KK Madrey stole her CUSA-leading 40th base. Savannah Woodard and Savanah Whatley both drove in one run.
- For LA Tech, Alexis Gilio batted 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run.Â
- Liberty leads Louisiana Tech 7-0 in the all-time series, including 5-0 since joining Conference USA.
- Prior to the third inning today, Liberty had not allowed a single run to Louisiana Tech in 30 2/3 innings, shutting out the Bulldogs all four meetings last year.
- Roupe is now tied with Liberty Athletics Hall of Famer Jessica Moore (2005-07) for second place in program history in career home runs (58) and first in career multiple home run games (11).
