Liberty freshman Aly Bozzuto and sophomore Kamryn Cannings have been selected to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.
The 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be hosted at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center, March 19-22 in Federal Way, Wash.
Bozzuto will be the fourth Liberty freshman all-time to compete at the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, joining Jess Reinhardt (2013 – 100 fly, 200 fly), Payton Keiner (2018 – 100 back, 200 back) and Kamryn Cannings (2024 – 100 fly, 200 fly).
This is the ninth time in 15 years of the program's history that at least one Lady Flame has been selected to compete in the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. The Lady Flames have had two All-America honorable mention finishers, in Brye Ravettine (13th in 50 free, 2012) and Jess Reinhardt (10th in 100 fly, 2014). All competitors at the cancelled 2020 NCAA Championships were named All-Americans, so Payton Keiner received All-American honors in 2020.
Cannings will swim in the 50 free on March 20, followed by the 100 fly on March 21 and 100 free on March 22. She earned her spot at nationals with her 51.42 in the 100 butterfly A Final at the ASUN Championships. That time ranks 16th in the field. The freshman also earned B cut times in the 200 butterfly (1:58.31), 50 freestyle (22.07), 100 freestyle (48.45) and 200 freestyle (1:44.10) and will focus on the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly at nationals.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Cannings was named the Most Outstanding Female Swimmer of the 2025 ASUN Championships. She won the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 fly at the 2025 ASUN meet.
Cannings is the program record holder in the 100 butterfly (51.26), 50 free (22.07), 100 free (48.45) and 200 free (1:44.10). She holds conference records in the 100 fly, 200 free, 400 free relay, 400 medley relay and 800 free relay.
Bozzuto will contest the 50 free, while also competing in the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke. She earned her selection to nationals by swimming a conference-record 59.17 in the 100 breaststroke to win the 2025 ASUN A Final. Her time ranks 26th in the 100 breaststroke. She also earned B cut times in the 50 free (22.09), 100 free (49.03) and 200 breaststroke (2:11.28).
Hailing from Jupiter, Fla., Bozzuto was named the Most Outstanding Freshman of the ASUN Meet. She won both the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke at the 2025 ASUN Championships, while finishing second to Kamryn Cannings in the 50 free.
Bozzuto holds the program record in both the 100 breaststroke (59.17) and 200 breaststroke (2:11.28). Meanwhile, she is a conference record holder in the 100 breaststroke, 400 free relay and 400 medley relay.
They may be joined by one or more Liberty divers at the NCAA Championships, as Maddie Freece, Shannon Icard and Chloe LaCount are competing at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships next Monday through Wednesday in Piscataway, N.J.
