
Lady Flames Finish Three Match Weekend with 4-2 Win at UNCG

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Lady Flames finished the weekend off with a 4-2 win against UNC Greensboro on Sunday afternoon. Liberty began the weekend on Friday with a 4-0 loss at Charlotte. The Lady Flames nearly upset No. 64 Tulane on Saturday but suffered a 4-3 defeat.
Liberty moved to 2-4 in matches away from Lynchburg. The team is in the midst of a seven-game road stretch with two matches remaining in Florida next week.
Saturday vs. Tulane
Liberty jumped ahead, snagging the doubles point with doubles triumphs on courts three and one. Liberty's No. 1 pair of Daniella O'Neill played to a tiebreak as Tulane fought off multiple match points. The Lady Flames ultimately prevailed with a 7-6 (6) victory.
The Green Wave dominated the bottom of the lineup on Sunday. Tulane picked up singles wins on courts four, five and six to help climb back into the match. The Lady Flames secured wins on courts two and three from Daniella O'Neill and YuYun Chen.
With the No. 1 singles match, Tulane secured the match victory with Campbell Richi topping Yoanna Radulova 6-3, 6-3.

The top of the lineup showed out in the final match of the weekend. Yoanna Radulova was the first to finish her match with an impressive 6-2, 6-3 victory on court one, giving Liberty a 2-0 lead. The Spartans responded with victories on courts five and six.
Yu-Yun Chen gave the Lady Flames the edge with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 3 slot. Maria Turchetto secured the match-winning fourth point for Liberty in the No. 4 singles match, besting Raegan Mitchell 6-1, 7-6 (4). Daniella O'Neill went unfinished on court two having led the match 7-6, 5-2 when play was stopped.
