
Liberty Defeats Miami (OH) 5-2 in Neutral Site Meeting

LINCOLN, Neb. – Liberty bested Miami (Ohio) 5-2 in the first of two road matches of the weekend. The Lady Flames (4-5) dropped the initial doubles point to the RedHawks (0-6). Liberty responded strong with five consecutive singles victories to earn the 5-2 triumph.
Daniella O'Neill and Maria Turchetto defeated the number one doubles team 6-4 to earn the lone doubles win of the match. Court two reached a tiebreaker as the RedHawks topped Anika Lemus and Yoanna Radulova, 7-6.
The Lady Flames were undeterred going into the singles round. O'Neill swiftly took the No. 1 singles match against Denysiewicz-Slowek 6-1,6-4. Yu-Yun Chen followed by defeating Nishitha Saravanan 6-3, 6-3, in the No. 3 singles match.
Yoanna Radulova, Anika Lemus, and Celena Joseph went on to win their respective singles matches. Radulova bested Zalukar in two games on court two. Lemus' 7-6 (5), 6-3, win over Lauren Joyce clinched the match for Liberty at 4-1. Joseph's match ended in a third set to secure the win 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to put the flames at 5-1.
The Lady Flames look to carry the momentum into Sunday's match against No. 36 Nebraska (9-1).
