
Field Hockey Earns NFHCA National Academic Team Honors

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty field hockey team earned the 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Team Award for its performance in the classroom during the fall semester.
The Lady Flames are receiving the recognition for having a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher during the first semester of the 2024-25 school year. Liberty, which achieved a 3.54 GPA as a team, was one of 57 Division I programs to garner the honor. The Lady Flames have now received the honor 12 times.
Liberty also featured 15 student-athletes on the NFHCA National Academic Squad. Eight Lady Flames – Ellie Livingston, Gianna Miller, Anna Miller, Ashlee Bucksar, Tori Griffiths, Josefina Tomasi, Mary Hazel Davis and Riley Welsch – were tabbed NFHCA Scholars of Distinction as well.
The final academic award to be announced by the NFHCA will be the National-Scholar Athlete.
