
20th-Ranked Liberty Set for Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational

Liberty, ranked 20th in the Softball America Top 25 and 24th in the D1Softball.com poll, will compete in the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational for the first time since 2020. The Lady Flames will take on Charlotte, No. 12 Alabama, No. 15 Missouri, Wichita State and Auburn.
All of Liberty's games this weekend will air on ESPN+, with Saturday's game against No. 15 Missouri also appearing on SEC Network.

- The Lady Flames rallied for a 5-4 win over UCF on Wednesday, tying a program record for undefeated start to a season (also 1996, 2018, 2021) at 6-0. Liberty won all five games at THE Spring Games in Leesburg, Fla, and has posted four wins over Power Conference opponents so far this year.
- Liberty has outscored opponents 37-16 so far this season, outhitting them, .331-.196.
- The Lady Flames are coming off of their fourth straight NCAA Regional berth, going 38-25 and coming within one out of making their first-ever NCAA Super Regional appearance. Two current Lady Flames (Savannah Woodard - 2021 for Alabama; Savanah Whatley - 2022 for Oregon State) have WCWS experience.
- Senior Paige Bachman was named CUSA Pitcher of the Week on Monday. She is now 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA, .186 opponents batting average and 21 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings so far this season.
- Rachel Roupe has drawn national attention, being listed No. 38 in Softball America's Preseason Top 100 Players List and No. 42 on the D1Softball.com Preseason D100. She extended her hitting streak to five games with a double at UCF, Wednesday.
- Liberty enters the weekend with a 1.33 team ERA. Bachman, Tyler Oubre and Danner Allen all have 0.00 ERA's, while 2024 NFCA All-Region pitchers Kaylan Yoder (1.75) and Elena Escobar (3.77) have strong credentials, as well.
- KK Madrey bats .556 while also leading the team in both RBI (7) and stolen bases (8). Savannah Woodard (.400) hit her first homer since 2023, Wednesday at UCF, while Brooke Roberts bats .400 with one homer and six RBI. Paige Doerr (.368), Brynn McManus (.333) and Savanah Whatley round out Liberty's six .300 hitters so far.
