
Bachman Named CUSA Pitcher of the Week

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty senior Paige Bachman was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week following a stellar performance in the pitching circle last week.
Bachman is the fourth Lady Flame in the last two seasons to be named CUSA Pitcher of the Week. She joins current teammates Katie Love (March 18, 2024), Kaylan Yoder (April 1, 2024) and Elena Escobar (April 15, 2024).
A native of Fredericksburg, Va., Bachman is the first Lady Flame since Julia DiMartino (ASUN) in 2019 to be named conference pitcher of the week for the first week of the season.
he senior pitched a dominant three outings at THE Spring Games, helping Liberty start the season 5-0. Bachman went 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, one shutout, three appearances, one start, three walks, 16 strikeouts and a .157 opponents batting average in 13 ? innings pitched.
Bachman came on in relief of Kaylan Yoder in the season opener against Radford on Friday. With Liberty trailing 2-0 entering the fifth inning, Bachman pitched the final three innings, striking out four and allowing three hits. The Lady Flames rallied to win 3-2 on a walk-off hit.
In her first start of the season, Bachman tossed a complete game three-hit shutout against Cleveland State. She struck out seven batters, walking one. Bachman retired 12 straight batters, spanning the second through fifth innings, a stretch which began with six straight strikeouts.
On Sunday against Rutgers, she came on in relief of Danner Allen with the bases loaded in the fourth. In an inning that was extended due to an error, Bachman allowed three inherited runners to score, unearned. Her pitching line included three hits allowed, two walks, five strikeouts and three hits allowed in 3 ? innings as Liberty won 8-4.
Next up, the Lady Flames (5-0) compete at UCF, Wednesday at 5 p.m. at UCF Softball Complex.
