- Liberty (5-2, 0-0 CUSA) will travel to George Mason (6-4, 1-0 A-10) on Sunday for a matchup between the defending champions of CUSA and the Atlantic 10.
- The Lady Flames and Patriots are meeting for the first time in 17 years. George Mason is 11-2 all-time against Liberty, but the Lady Flames won the two most recent matchups.
- Liberty has won a season-best three games in a row, including a 2-0 appearance at the Nov. 29-30 Navy Classic. The Lady Flames defeated Duquesne and Manhattan to emerge as the event's only unbeaten team.
- Avery Mills was named Navy Classic MVP after averaging a team-high 21.0 ppg. She scored a career-high 24 points during the Lady Flames' 68-56 victory over Manhattan on Nov. 30.
- Emmy Stout also made the Navy Classic All-Tournament Team. She tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds against Manhattan for her second double-double of the season and the third of her career.
- Liberty has outrebounded all seven opponents this season and owns a +14.1 rebound margin. Ify Nwaobi has grabbed 10+ boards in five straight contests.
- Liberty is playing at George Mason for the first time since Nov. 14, 2006. That day, Megan, Moriah and Molly Frazee combined for 50 of the Lady Flames' 61 points as Liberty rallied from a 39-29 halftime deficit to win 61-56. It marked the Lady Flames' first-ever victory over the Patriots (in 12 meetings).
- Liberty is predicted for a runner-up finish in CUSA, while George Mason was picked second in the A-10.
- The Patriots went 27-6 last season, winning their first A-10 championship and making their NCAA Tournament debut. That makes George Mason one of 10 squads among Liberty's 11-team non-conference schedule which posted a winning record in 2024-25.
- Liberty will look to snap George Mason's 13-game home winning streak at EagleBank Arena. The Patriots are 19-1 at home the last two seasons, with the lone loss coming to Saint Joseph's on Jan. 2, 2025.
- The Lady Flames have faced George Mason Head Coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis once previously. Her Bethune-Cookman team topped Liberty 81-76 (OT) in the 2018-19 opener.
- Both teams have played at James Madison this season. George Mason won 72-57 in Harrisonburg on Nov. 6, six days before Liberty dropped a 74-61 decision to the Dukes.
- Liberty is 10-18 all-time when playing against Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) opponents, including 2-11 in road games.
- After facing only two A-10 foes during the last six seasons (2019-20 through 2024-25), the Lady Flames are in the midst of a stretch where they will play three out of four contests against A-10 opponents.
- The Lady Flames defeated Duquesne 67-60 on Nov. 29 at the Navy Classic and will host Richmond on Dec. 13.
- Liberty has lost five of its last seven contests against A-10 foes, with both wins coming over Duquesne (Dec. 22, 2018 and Nov. 29, 2025).
- The Lady Flames have dropped three straight road matchups with A-10 opponents since a 76-63 triumph at VCU on Dec. 20, 2012.
- George Mason is the third of four in-state opponents on Liberty's 2025-26 schedule. The Lady Flames previously lost 74-61 at James Madison on Nov. 12 and defeated UVA Wise 80-35 on Nov. 26. Liberty will host Richmond on Dec. 13.
- The Lady Flames are now 12-5 in their last 17 meetings with Commonwealth foes.
- Liberty claimed the unofficial Navy Classic championship, leaving Annapolis as the two-day event's (Nov. 29-30) only 2-0 team. It marked the Lady Flames' third time going 2-0 (also 2009 and 2021) in four all-time Navy Classic appearances.
- The Lady Flames finished 2-0 at a regular-season tournament for the first time since the 2022 Husky Classic (Dec. 18-19, 2022 in Seattle).
- Avery Mills (21.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg) was named Navy Classic MVP and was joined on the all-tournament team by Emmy Stout (15.0 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.5 bpg).
- Claudia Acin (9.0 ppg, 7.0 apg) provided a boost in her return from illness. She dished out a career-high 10 assists during Liberty's tournament opener vs. Duquesne.
