
UIW Edges Liberty 1-0 in Final Game of Regular Season

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The Incarnate Word Cardinals edged the Liberty Flames 1-0 in the final regular season game for both teams Sunday afternoon at Gayle & Tom Benson Stadium.
The host Cardinals scored on their first shot of the game, as Paco Seguerra netted the contest's lone goal during the sixth minute. UIW then limited the Flames to seven shots in the defensive match for the victory.
Liberty held the UIW to six shots in the game. However, the visiting Flames could not find the equalizer.
Liberty entered the Ohio Valley Conference match unbeaten in six consecutive games, posting a 2-0-4 record over the span. The Flames drop to 4-2-4 in OVC play and finish the regular season third in the conference standings. Liberty has an 8-4-6 overall record.
UIW finishes the season with a 1-5-4 mark in the OVC and a 5-7-6 overall record.
