
Liberty and Western Illinois Play to 1-1 Draw

MACOMB, ILL. – The Liberty Flames and the Western Illinois Leathernecks played to a 1-1 tie in an Ohio Valley Conference match Sunday afternoon at Jack MacKenzie Alumni Field.
Forward Leo Conneh gave Liberty a 1-0 lead with a goal late in the first half, only to see host Western Illinois midfielder Benjamin Graham score off a deflected save of a penalty kick during the 81st minute to salvage a tie.
Liberty concludes its OVC swing through Illinois with its second consecutive tie after tying Eastern Illinois 2-2 on Thursday. The Flames move to 3-1-3 in the OVC and 7-3-5 overall. WIU ups its record to 1-2-4 in conference play and 3-9-4 overall.
