
Liberty Posts Season-Low 18-Hole Total on Tuesday

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Flames carded their lowest round of the 2025-26 season to keep pace with the leaders during the second day of The Bryson Invitational on Tuesday.
Liberty carded an 8-under par 280 during its second trip around the Daniel Island Club – Ralston Creek Course (par 72, 7,446 yards). Following 36 holes of play, Liberty is tied for eighth place with an overall 8-under par 568 (288-280).
The 15-team field found the Ralston Creek Course easier to play on Tuesday, with a 1.35 lower scoring average than the first round (Round 1 – 72.96 average; Round 2 – 71.61 average). Thirteen of the 15 teams in the field posted an under-par score during the second round.
Vanderbilt continues to lead the event and will enter tomorrow's final round in first place with an overall 18-under par 558 (278-280).
Kansas is one stroke back with at 17-under par 559 (280-279), while Duke is in third place with a 15-under par 561 (281-280).
The Flames had three of their five starting golfers post under-par scores on Tuesday, aiding in Liberty's best round of the season.
Ike Joy and Michael Lugiano each carded 3-under par rounds of 69, while Josh Ryan posted a 2-under par 70. The trio of golfers recorded a combined 13 birdies during play on Tuesday.
Overall, Lugiano carded his second under-par score and is currently tied for 12th place with a 4-under par 140 (71-69).
The Flames' Silas Haarer is tied for 24th place with a 1-under par score of 143 (71-72). Ryan (75-70) and Joy (79-69) are tied for 47th place with a 1-over par 145.
The 15-team field will return to the Daniel Island Club – Ralston Creek Course on Wednesday for the event's final round.
Liberty, along with golfers from TCU and Wisconsin, will be the first on the round, teeing off at 7:40 a.m. from the first tee.
