LYNCHBURG, Va. – A total of 141 Liberty Flames student-athletes are being honored as part of the 2024 Liberty University graduating class this week.
That lists of 141 student-athletes includes December 2023, May 2024 and Summer 2024 graduates. Liberty University is celebrating its 2024 graduating class with the main commencement ceremony on Friday night at Williams Stadium and in-person degree presentation ceremonies Thursday through Saturday for its 51st Commencement exercises.
"Liberty mission is to train champions for Christ, and that is what you are. You are champions in your sport, champions in the classroom, champions for Christ and champions in the community," said Liberty Vice President and Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. "Your Liberty degree will set you up for great success in the years to come. May God bless each of you."
The 141 Liberty student-athletes are among the over 29,000* total Liberty University graduates expected this May. Commencement 2024 is one of the largest in the school's history, with Liberty welcoming over 60,000 graduates, family members, friends and other special guests for the Commencement events.
"From the day you stepped foot on campus, you pursued excellence in the classroom, on the field of competition and in the community," stated Liberty Senior Associate Athletic Director for Academic Affairs Kristie Beitz. "Remember that you are forever a member of the Flames family. Once a Flame, always a Flame!"
On April 29, Liberty Athletics held a Student-Athlete Graduation Celebration at Osborne Stadium to recognize the accomplishments of its graduating class. The Student-Athlete Graduation Celebration featured individual and group photos, along with food trucks, games and music to celebrate the academic year for all current Liberty NCAA student-athletes.
Liberty Athletics would like to congratulate this talented and unique group of 141 individuals for finishing their degrees, as well as applaud their many on-the-field accomplishments during their time as Liberty student-athletes.
Many of these individuals helped Liberty win conference championships. However, all have proudly donned a Liberty Athletics uniform, while striving to become Champions for Christ.
