
Lady Flames to Close Out Regular Season at No. 10 LSU

Liberty (31-20, 19-5 Conference USA) will conclude its regular-season schedule with a three-game series at No. 10 LSU.
Series Coverage
• LSU has the best RPI of any SEC team, at 3. The Tigers went 12-12 in SEC play this season. LSU is ranked 10th in the NFCA poll and 13th in the USA Softball poll this week. The Tigers are 24-1 in nonconference games this season, with their only nonconference loss coming at Louisiana, last Tuesday.
• Liberty has posted three wins over Top 25 teams this year, with the most recent being a 1-0 win at No. 24 Virginia, April 9. The Lady Flames fell to No. 16 Virginia Tech on Wednesday despite getting a 2-for-3 game and an RBI triple from Brynn McManus.
• Current Liberty junior KK Madrey began her career at LSU in 2022 before transferring to Liberty, where she was an all-conference performer last year. She has led Liberty in steals each of the last two seasons.
• Liberty's bats woke up in a big way last week, including a midweek 9-3 win at Longwood and a three-game series at UTEP. The Lady Flames averaged over eight runs per game, hitting eight home runs.
• On Monday, Rachel Roupe was named CUSA Player of the Week on Monday, while Katie Love was voted CUSA Freshman of the Week. Roupe had back-to-back two-homer games at Longwood and UTEP, hitting .600 with a 2.650 OPS, four home runs and eight RBI during the week. Love went 1-0 with a 2.33 ERA, making three appearances and one start last week.
• For the season, Rachel Roupe (.372) leads the CUSA in doubles (17), on base percentage (.500) and OPS (1.314) and is tied for second in homers (15). KK Madrey (.280) is ranked third in the CUSA with 16 steals. Raigan Barrett bats .276, while Mary Claire Wilson (.276) has scored 33 runs. Hailey Deter (.272) is second on the team with nine doubles. Megan Fortner (.245) is second on the team with 10 home runs and is tied with Sierra Kersten (.238) for second on the team in RBI (28).
• Elena Escobar (10-3, 2.32) and Kaylan Yoder (10-8, 2.45) rank first and second, respectively, in the CUSA in ERA. Yoder leads the league with a .202 opponents batting average and with 119 strikeouts. Katie Love (7-4, 3.59) has tossed three shutouts this season, including a no-hitter versus Jax State on March 16 and a six-hitter at Virginia on April 9.
