2024 Liberty Men's Soccer Schedule
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames men's soccer team has announced its schedule for the fall of 2024. Â
The Flames will begin their 2024 season with two exhibition games. Liberty will travel to Gardner-Webb for the first contest. The Flames will then open their home slate on Aug. 17 by hosting Virginia Tech in an exhibition game at Osborne Stadium.
Head Coach Kelly Findley's team will kick off their 2024 regular season schedule with a home game against non-conference opponent Mount Olive on Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Osborne Stadium. Four days later, the Flames will take the short trip up Route 460 to face Longwood in their first regular season road game.
Liberty will once again compete in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2024. The eight-team league will be split into two four-team divisions in 2024. Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, SIUE and Southern Indiana will compete in one division and Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Liberty and Western Illinois will play in the other division. Each program will play 10 regular season league games. Each team will face the other teams within their division twice and play members of the other division once. The Flames will host Western Illinois at Osborne Stadium to begin OVC play on September 28.
Liberty's home schedule will feature eight regular season games plus an exhibition game. The Flames will host Mt. Olive, Georgia State and Presbyterian in non-conference matches at Osborne Stadium in 2024. Liberty's home OVC slate includes contests against Eastern Illinois, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Southern Indiana and Western Illinois.
In addition to Longwood, Liberty will face USC Upstate, 2023 NCAA Tournament Participant James Madison and 2023 National Champion Clemson in non-conference road matches. In conference, the Flames will travel to Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Lindenwood, 2023 OVC Champion SIUE and Western Illinois for OVC road matches.
The OVC Men's Soccer Championship will be held from Nov. 9-16 at a site yet to be announced. The 2024 OVC Championship will open with the quarterfinals on Nov. 9 and the semifinals on Nov. 13. The final will be played on Nov. 16.
