
Six Lady Flames Featured in ASUN Postseason Honors & Awards

LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 4 seed Liberty garnered six selections in the 2024 Atlantic Sun Women's Lacrosse Postseason Honors & Awards in advance of this week's ASUN Championship. Liberty secured three on the ASUN All-Conference first team, two on the ASUN All-Conference second team and one on the All-Freshman team.
The Lady Flames (6-11, 3-3 ASUN) featured midfielder Olivia Glaze, attacker Jordan Sheive and defender Madeleine Klunder on the 2024 ASUN All-Conference first team. Each player received their first selection to an ASUN All-Conference first or second team.
Liberty boasts two on the ASUN All-Conference second team, including midfielder Katie Colavito and defender Katelyn Weissend. Both athletes are receiving their first recognition on an ASUN All-Conference first or second team.
Goalkeeper Rachel Hines was a unanimous selection to the ASUN All-Freshman team.
The Lady Flames' three first team selections falls one short of 2023's total of four included. Liberty's five total on the ASUN All-Conference first or second teams is two less than Liberty's seven selections in 2023. The Lady Flames trail Coastal Carolina, who had four first team selections.
Liberty finished the regular season as the No. 4 seed in the ASUN and will go against No. 1 seed Jacksonville (8-8, 6-0 ASUN) in the semifinal round of the 2024 ASUN Championship on Thursday at 1 p.m. The Lady Flames led the country with 16.41 caused turnovers and 279 total, 33 more than second place Duquesne (246). The Lady Flames finished second nationally with 22.76 ground balls and 387 total, falling just one shy of Duquesne (388).
Olivia Glaze | Midfielder | First Team
Olivia Glaze started all 17 games for the Liberty Flames, leading the team and the ASUN with 37 caused turnovers. She ranks No. 14 in the country with 2.18 caused turnovers per game. The senior tallied the third-most points (35) on Liberty with 22 goals and 13 assists (third on team). Glaze recorded career highs in all scoring and defensive categories this spring.
The award is the senior's first ASUN postseason award since she was included on the ASUN All-Freshman team in 2021. Glaze stepped up for Liberty when senior midfielder Mackenzie Lehman was sidelined. Glaze recorded 11 scores, five assists and 16 points in ASUN action. The Alpharetta, Ga. native tallied 26 ground balls and 35 draw controls (second on team) during the regular season.
The senior recorded career point No. 100 in last Saturday's contest against Jacksonville and ended the game with 101 career points (71 goals, 30 assists). Glaze became the 16th player in Liberty program history to reach the 100-point milestone. The senior's 37 caused turnovers rank third most in a single season in school history.
Jordan Sheive | Attacker | First Team
Jordan Sheive started all 17 games for Liberty, pacing the team in goals (32), assists (19) and points (51). The senior tallied 13 goals and seven assists in conference play this spring. Sheive achieved career highs in all scoring and defensive categories in 2024.
Sheive also totaled 27 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers and seven draw controls. The senior ranks fifth all-time at Liberty with 55 assists. With 153 points (98 g, 55 a), Sheive currently ranks eighth in program history in career points.
Madeleine Klunder | Defender | First Team
Madeleine Klunder led a defense that ranked first in the country in caused turnovers and second nationally in ground balls. A two-time ASUN Defensive Player of the Week recipient (March 5, April 2), She also ranks No. 16 in the country with 2.88 ground balls per game. Klunder led Liberty and the ASUN with 49 ground balls and ranks third for both Liberty and in the ASUN with 35 ground balls.
Klunder is receiving her first postseason conference Klunder's 49 ground balls are the ninth most in a single season in program history. The redshirt sophomore recorded seven games with at least three caused turnovers and five games with at least four ground balls.
Katie Colavito | Midfielder | Second Team
Katie Colavito burst onto the scene as a sophomore, leading Liberty with 54 draw controls. She ranks second on the team and in the ASUN with 36 caused turnovers. The sophomore ranks No. 16 in the country with 2.12 caused turnovers per game. The Wake Forest, N.C. native finished the regular season third on the team with 29 goals while adding five assists for 34 points.
Colavito was selected to the 2023 ASUN All-Freshman team. Colavito registered a career-high six goals at Kennesaw State on April 13.
Katelyn Weissend | Defender | Second Team
Katelyn Weissend helped lead a defense that ranked first in the country in caused turnovers and second nationally in ground balls. The postseason award is the first for Weissend. The senior totaled 33 caused turnovers (fourth on team) and 22 ground balls during the regular season.
Weissend recorded her first career assist against No. 5 Notre Dame (April 11) and scored her third career goal at Lindenwood on April 20.
Rachel Hines | Goalkeeper | All-Freshman Team
Rachel Hines was second among Liberty freshmen with 10 appearances in 2024. Hines made two starts for Liberty. The goalkeeper totaled 31 saves, a 17.99 goals-against average and a .307 save percentage in the regular season. The freshman recorded over 233 minutes in net for the Lady Flames. Hines recorded 10 ground balls and two caused turnovers this spring. She made a season-high six saves in an ASUN victory at Stetson on March 29.
