
Lacrosse Prepares for 2024 ASUN Championship, Takes on No. 1 Seed Jacksonville

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The No. 4 seed Lady Flames lacrosse team is set to open the 2024 Atlantic Sun Women's Lacrosse Championship against No. 1 seed Jacksonville on Thursday. First draw is set for 1 p.m. All games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The ASUN Championship is held at Rock Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. from Thursday through Saturday. All games will be broadcast on ESPN+. Tickets can be found here. No. 4 seed Liberty (6-11, 3-3 ASUN) receives a chance to respond from last Saturday's 12-11 overtime defeat to No. 1 seed Jacksonville (8-8, 6-0 ASUN) in Lynchburg. The two programs have met in the past four ASUN Championship title games, with Liberty finishing as the runner-up in all four. The Lady Flames came up just short to the Dolphins in last season's title game, falling 14-13 in overtime. Liberty seeks its first-ever conference title in program history.
The four-team ASUN Women's Lacrosse Championship includes No. 1 seed Jacksonville, No. 2 seed Coastal Carolina (12-5, 5-1 ASUN), No. 3 seed Lindenwood (13-3, 3-3 ASUN) and No. 4 seed Liberty. No. 2 seed Coastal Carolina and No. 3 seed Lindenwood will meet in Thursday's second semifinal at 4 p.m. at Rock Stadium. The ASUN Championship title game will be on Saturday afternoon with a 1 p.m. first draw.
Liberty rebounded from a difficult start to conference action and picked up back-to-back ASUN wins at Kennesaw State (15-12 final, April 13) and Lindenwood (14-10 final, April 20). The Lady Flames have faced difficult competition this season, having played five top-25 teams in the regular season.
The Lady Flames hope to improve on a 1-12 all-time record against Jacksonville. Liberty has fallen in overtime to the Dolphins in the past two meetings.

- The Lady Flames concluded the regular season as the leader in the country with 16.41 caused turnovers per game (271 total). Olivia Glaze led the team and the ASUN with 37 caused turnovers and ranks 14th nationally in caused turnovers per game (2.18).
- Glaze's 37 caused turnovers are tied for the third most in a single season in program history. The midfielder is tied with Colleen Ekert (37, 2016) and trails behind Briana McCaffrey (49, 2018 and 56, 2019).
- Liberty ended the regular season as the second-best team nationally with 22.76 ground balls per game with 387 total. Madeleine Klunder paced Liberty and the ASUN with 49 ground balls. The defender also ranks No. 16 in the country with 2.88 ground balls per game.
- The Lady Flames finished the regular season with a 2-8 home record and a 4-3 road record.
- Liberty has met five teams that finished the regular season in the top 30 in the nation in the RPI.
- Jordan Sheive leads Liberty in goals (32), assists (19) and points (51).
