Small Liberty Contingent to Compete at Randolph on Saturday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Six Liberty track & field athletes (three women's distance runners and three men's hurdlers) will stay close to home on Saturday, competing in Randolph's WildCat Track Festival.
The Flames' entrants include Josh Blalock, Rebecca Brown, Albrey Gossett, Rayshawn Johnson, Sophia Park and Samantha Troup. Gossett and Johnson will get Liberty's day started at 11:10 a.m. with the men's 110 hurdles.

Familiar Venue
The last time Liberty competed at Randolph (WildCat Twilight on April 22, 2023), two of Saturday's entrants found success.
Samantha Troup won the WildCat Twilight women's 800 for the second year in a row, while Josh Blalock recorded his first collegiate title in the men's 400 hurdles in a personal-best 53.83.
Troup (women's 1,500) and Blalock (men's 400 hurdles) are the top seeds in their respective races on Saturday.

Liberty will have athletes competing in six different meets next week. A group of throwers will head to California for the Pacific Coast Invitational (April 11 in Long Beach), Beach Invitational (April 12-13 in Long Beach) and Jim Bush Legends Invitational (April 13 in Los Angeles).
Some of the Flames' distance runners will also be competing in the Golden State, taking part in the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 11-13 in Azusa).
Other groups of Flames and Lady Flames will remain in the Commonwealth for the Virginia Grand Prix (April 12-13 in Charlottesville) and Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic (April 12-13 in Lynchburg).
