Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
Liberty is full of some of the most wonderful people, and the community that it has to offer has been such a blessing in my life. This school has been the perfect place to pursue my degree and participate in track and field. I have been challenged and encouraged in all areas of my life, but most importantly in my walk with the Lord. I have loved my time here at Liberty.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
My most memorable athletic accomplishment was winning the Pennsylvania (PIAA) Class 2A Girls State Basketball Championship my senior year of high school. Winning states was especially rewarding, because the prior year, my junior year, we had made it to the state championship and lost. Our motivation all year was to make it back to that game and finish the year on a win. I had the greatest teammates and wonderful coaches, and playing in the Giant Center in Hershey, PA made us feel so important. That was a really special game, and it is definitely my most treasured athletic memory.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
11 - This number has always been my favorite number, and it was the number I competed in for both basketball and volleyball all of high school.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My mom, Shannon Watts, competed on Cedarville University's track team during her time there.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
My favorite meal is breakfast, and any breakfast food is great.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
I check my messages in the morning.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
Music is my favorite hobby.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
I have a cat named Willow.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Sydney McGlaughlin-Levrone
What is your favorite possession and why?
My car is my favorite possession honestly, because it was the first thing that I worked hard to save up for and it has been through a lot with me.
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
Hawaii is my dream vacation because I have never been, and it just looks so beautiful.
