
No. 2 Liberty Advances to CUSA Semifinals with 4-0 Victory over No. 3 Jax State

MIAMI, Fla. – The No. 2 seed Lady Flames tennis team will appear in the CUSA Women's Tennis Championship final after sweeping No. 3 seed Jax State 4-0 on Saturday. Liberty will face No. 1 seed and tournament host, FIU on Sunday at 10 a.m. Saturday's semifinal match and the CUSA Women's Tennis Championship is held at the FIU Tennis courts in Miami, Fla.
No. 2 seed Liberty (17-5) advances to the semifinal and secures its 10th consecutive victory in dominant fashion, sweeping Jax State 4-0. The Lady Flames controlled the doubles point with triumphs on courts two and three. Liberty continued rolling in the singles round, grabbing three consecutive singles wins in the No. 4, 3 and 6 singles matches.
Marina Davtyan secured Liberty's first singles point with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep. The senior secured her eighth consecutive singles match victory. The Yerevan, Armenia native has yet to drop a game in singles play through two CUSA Championship matches.
Freshman Maria Turchetto clinched the match-winning fourth point for the second consecutive match.
The Lady Flames advance to a conference championship final for the fourth time in program history. Liberty fell in the Atlantic Sun Championship final in 2022 4-2 to Stetson. The Lady Flames made two appearances in the Big South Women's Tennis Championship final (2016 and 2018)
Liberty was victorious in it's 10th consecutive match on Saturday and improved to 8-5 playing away from Lynchburg this spring. The Lady Flames boost its record to 3-0 all-time against Jax State.

- The Lady Flames took authority early on Saturday with a swift doubles win on court two. Maria Turchetto and Daniella O'Neill (17-5) cruised by Anna Syrova and Ella Tuomela 6-0.
- Liberty clinched the doubles point in the No. 3 singles match. Marina Davtyan and Esther Lovato continue their perfect run (7-0) with a 6-3 triumph over Polina Ramenskaia and Dariana Prato.
- Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Tiffany Nguyen (10-4) led 5-3 as their match went unfinished against Martina Zarza and Irene Artigas.
Singles
- Davtyan (12-3) dominated Artigas 6-0, 6-0 on court four to snag Liberty's first singles victory. Davtyan is now 2-0 at the CUSA Championship and has yet to lose a game in singles across two matches.
- Liberty took a controlling 3-0 lead in the No. 3 singles match. Lovato (13-4) secured her ninth consecutive singles match, besting Syrova 6-0, 6-3.
- The Lady Flames secured the match-winning fourth point on court six for the second consecutive match. Turchetto (12-7) topped Zarza 6-2, 6-0 to advance Liberty into the CUSA Championship final.
- Liberty secured the first set in all unfinished singles matches.
