Young Takes 3rd in Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invite Steeplechase

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Kristiana Young was Liberty's top finisher on day two of the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational on Saturday, taking third place in the women's steeplechase.
Competing in her first steeplechase of the season, Young clocked 11:49.28 to earn her third-place finish.
Emily Coates came in 10th in both of her events, battling headwinds on a gusty afternoon. She ran 12.80 in the women's 100 and later came back with a season-best 26.38 in the 200.
Competing unattached, Sofia Mojica won the women's discus by 17 feet with a top mark of 146-7.

Liberty has three meets on the schedule next weekend, including the Raleigh Relays (March 28-30 in Raleigh, N.C.), Florida Relays (March 29-30 in Gainesville, Fla.) and Hornet Open (March 29-30 in Lynchburg).
