MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee pitcher Chandler Alderman pitched a no-hitter as the Blue Raiders defeated the Liberty Flames 10-0 Saturday afternoon at Reese Smith Jr. Field. The game ended in the eighth due to the run rule.
Alderman pitched eight scoreless innings. He struck out a season-high 11 and walked three. The left-hander worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning after walking three consecutive Flames with two out.
The host Blue Raiders benefited from six Liberty errors in the contest. Six of Middle Tennessee's runs were unearned.
Liberty drops to 1-1 in CUSA play and 9-13 overall. Middle Tennessee improves to 2-3 in CUSA and 10-11 overall.
