Greenhagel Sits 6th Following 49er Classic Heptathlon Day 1

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Making her heptathlon debut, Liberty freshman Paige Greenhagel sits in sixth place of 22 competitors following Thursday's quartet of events at the 49er Classic.
Greenhagel totaled 2,690 points, leaving her just two tallies behind fifth-place Isabelle Kapoor of Clemson in an event where four of the top six competitors are freshmen, heading to day two.
Greenhagel's top individual event finishes came in the high jump (5-2.25 clearance for fifth place) and 200 dash (26.02 clocking for first in her heat and second overall). She also added nearly a foot to her shot put personal best, reaching 31-4.75.
Sofia Van Arsdale is also competing in her first heptathlon for the Lady Flames this week. She totaled 2,252 points for 14th place.
