
No. 51 Liberty Falls to No. 15 Michigan State

TEMPE, Ariz. - The No. 51 Flames tennis team dropped a challenging test against No. 15 Michigan State, 4-0, in the first day of the Diablos College Invite in Tempe, Ariz.
Liberty (9-4) was matched up with Michigan State (13-1) as the first of three opponents the Flames will face this weekend.
The Spartans secured the first point of the match after a competitive doubles round. Liberty fought in multiple singles matches but Michigan State proved to be too much with three quick singles victories.
"Today we learned some things," Head Coach Derek Schwandt said. "We will reset and use in a great opportunity tomorrow."
Michigan State gets redemption for its 4-1 loss to Liberty in 2023.
