KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Liberty holds nearly a 100-point lead over second-place Queens in the 2024 ASUN Swimming & Diving Championships after Friday's action at Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
The Lady Flames, looking for their sixth straight conference title, lead with 669.5 points, followed by Queens (571). UNC Asheville (439.5) is third, followed closely behind by FGCU (431.5).

Tomorrow will be the final day of the 2024 ASUN Championships. The morning prelims begin at 10 a.m. with the 100 freestyle, followed by 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 400 freestyle relay and the 1,650 freestyle.

- Liberty posted 10 top-eight finishes on Friday night, including three event victories and five podium finishes. For the meet, Liberty has earned 35 A Finals, 19 podiums and six event victories.
- Liberty extended lengthy winning streaks in two events tonight, including the 800 free relay. The Lady Flames won that relay for the seventh year in a row, with Kamryn Cannings, Sydney Stricklin, Kate Baker and Shelby Kahn winning in 7:10.97.
- Senior Abbie Shaw captured her fifth career conference championship gold medal and sixth career podium finish, pushing Liberty's winning streak in the 100 backstroke to eight years with her time of 54.27. Sydney Stricklin earned her fourth career conference championship podium finish, placing second in 54.30, while Sydney Houtz finished third (54.50) for her first conference medal. The Lady Flames put five into the 100 back A Final, going 1-2-3-4 in a swimming event for the first time since the 2022 CCSA 400 IM A Final.
- Freshman Kamryn Cannings made it 2-for-2, winning the 200 fly in conference meet record, NCAA B cut 1:56.12.
- With platform diving contested as an exhibition, Shannon Icard earned a spot on the platform at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships with her 261.00 at night.
- Sydney Houtz moved into seventh place on Liberty's all-time top 10 performers list in the 100 back (54.50), while Malia Francis (54.80) entered eighth and Jamyson Robb (54.87), ninth.
- Robb's 1:02.39 in tonight's 100 breaststroke A Final ranks eighth in program history.
- Cannings (1:56.12) is now second in program history in the 200 fly.
- Icard broke Olivia Robinson's program record on platform (229.58), scoring 261.00 tonight.
- The Lady Flames' 800 freestyle relay time of 7:10.97 tonight ranks second in program history, trailing only the program record of 7:10.73, set in 2018.
