LYNCHBURG, Va. – During a hiatus in the 2024-25 indoor season, Liberty Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Lance Bingham announced his program's 2025 outdoor track & field schedule on Monday.
As usual, the Flames will only host one meet at the Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex. The May 6 Liberty Twilight Qualifier will close out the Flames' regular season and give the team an opportunity to recognize its seniors.
Liberty will compete in a number of meets close to home, including a trio at the University of Lynchburg (Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational – March 28-29, Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic – April 11-12 and The Hill City Twilight – May 2), one at Randolph (WildCat Invitational – April 18-19) and three at Virginia (Virgina Grand Prix – April 4-5, Virginia Challenge – April 18-19 and Virginia High Performance – April 27).
On the opposite end of the travel spectrum, three groups of Liberty athletes will fly to California for meets. The Flames' multis (April 10-11) and distance runners (April 16-18) will compete during back-to-back weeks at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa. Meanwhile, throwers will take part in two meets at Long Beach (Pacific Coast Invitational – April 17 and Beach Invitational – April 18-19).
Liberty's championship meets will take place in three different time zones, beginning with the May 16-18 CUSA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Two weeks later, North Florida will play host to the NCAA Division I East First Rounds in Jacksonville, Fla. The 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships will return to Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
