LAHAINA, Hawaii - Ike Joy missed matching a program record 54-hole total by one shot, leading the Flames with a fourth-place showing at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational on Monday.
The redshirt junior capped Liberty's final fall tournament by carding a 14-under par 199 (68-65-66) following three trips around the Ka'anapali Golf Club - Royal Ka'anapali Course (par 71, 6,700 yards) in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.
The score fell one shot shy of Jonathan Yaun's 18-under par 198 (68-63-67) at the 2023 ASUN Men's Golf Championship.
Joy carded seven birdies on the day, including three in a row to climb into a share of the overall lead late in the round. However, a bogey on No. 4 (par 4, 373 yards), Joy's 17th hole of the day, dropped him back down the leaderboard.
The native of Denver, N.C., finished the fall tournament with his first career top-five placement. He led the field with 20 birdies and ranked second in the field in par-3 (2.75) and par-5 (3.89) scoring.
