LaCount Named ASUN Diver of the Week

Liberty sophomore Chloe LaCount has been named Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference Women's Diver of the Week, as announced Wednesday by league officials.
LaCount receives her first career ASUN weekly honor. She is the third Lady Flame this season to be named ASUN Diver of the Week, joining Mary Herndon (Oct. 17) and Maddie Freece (Oct. 24).
A native of East Bernard, Texas, LaCount had a fantastic showing at the TYR '85 Invite, coming in first or second in every event while helping the Lady Flames win the team title. In the process, she earned her spot at the NCAA Zone Championships on both one-meter and three-meter diving.
On Friday, she finished second in three-meter diving with a season-best 283.65 points in the A Final. She then won one-meter diving on Saturday, scoring a lifetime-best and NCAA Zone-qualifying 276.45 in the A Final to win by nearly 15 points. Her 276.45 points on one-meter ranks sixth in program history.
LaCount finished the weekend with a second-place showing in platform diving, scoring 181.50 points. That total is good for sixth in program history on platform.
The Lady Flames will next compete in a dual meet at East Carolina, Jan. 17-18.
