LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Liberty swimming & diving team maintains a lead at the 2024 TYR '85 Invite following Saturday's action at Liberty Natatorium.
Liberty leads with 2,041.5 points, followed closely by Ohio (2,014). Saint Francis (Pa.) sits in third with 926.5 points, while Campbell (784) is fourth and California (Pa.) fifth.

Tomorrow's morning prelims start at 10 a.m. with the 200 backstroke, followed by the 100 free, 200 breaststroke and 200 fly. Platform diving will also take place. The evening session begins at 5 p.m. with the 1650 freestyle and end with the 400 freestyle relay.

- The Lady Flames claimed six events tonight, including both the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay. Liberty athletes won the 100 fly (Kamryn Cannings), one-meter diving (Chloe LaCount), 100 breaststroke (Aly Bozzuto) and 100 backstroke (Sydney Stricklin). For the meet so far, Liberty has won eight total events, including five individual events and three relays.
- Liberty opened the evening by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:39.37.
- Kamryn Cannings won the 100 fly by over 2.5 seconds, swimming an NCAA B cut time of 52.32 in the A Final. Emily Harstad finished third in 55.97.
- Grace Isaacs placed second in the 400 IM in 4:19.33, trailing winner Gabby McKee (4:17.65). Emily Gallion (4:23.68) came in fourth.
- Chloe LaCount won one-meter diving in an NCAA Zone-qualifying score of 276.45. It was her second Zone score in as many days, as she made the three-meter standard yesterday. Shannon Icard placed third on one-meter (251.65), while Maddie Freece (235.65) finished fourth).
- Freshman Aly Bozzuto swam an NCAA B cut time of 1:00.37 to win the 100 breaststroke, edging out Ohio's Casadie DiBetta (1:00.66).
- Sydney Stricklin claimed the 100 backstroke, swimming an NCAA B cut 53.31 in the A Final. Malia Francis (55.64) placed third.
- Liberty posted a 1-2 finish in the 800 free relay, with its A Team winning in 7:16.40.
- Sydney Stricklin moved up on Liberty's all-time top 10 performers list in three different events tonight. Her leadoff split of the 200 medley relay is tied with Kendall Hough (2015) for the third-best 50 backstroke time in program history.
- Stricklin also swam a lifetime best in the 100 backstroke, as her time of 53.31 ranks fourth all-time at Liberty. The senior clocked a lifetime-best 1:47.38 for the leadoff of the 800 free relay, a 200 free time that is third on the team's all-time top 10 performers list.
- LaCount's one-meter score of 276.45 tonight ranks sixth in program history.
- Bozzuto is ranked second all-time in the 100 breaststroke at Liberty, at 1:00.37.
- Liberty's 1:39.37 for the 200 medley relay is tied for sixth on the team's records lists.
