
WKU Clinches Outright CUSA Regular-Season Title, Sweeps Liberty

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Western Kentucky posted a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-23) sweep over Liberty on Thursday at E.A. Diddle Arena, clinching the Conference USA regular-season title outright.
WKU (24-6, 17-0) pushed its winning streak to 20 with its 91st straight CUSA regular-season win. The Hilltoppers have not lost a regular-season conference match since the 2018 season. The Lady Flames fall to 13-16, 7-10 in CUSA play with their third straight loss.

- The Toppers' outside hitters combined for 31 kills, while Alivia Skidmore scoring a match-high 16 kills while Kaylee Cox followed with 15 kills (.519) and 12 digs. Callie Bauer dished out a match-high 39 assists and added 11 digs, while Izzy Van De Wiele sent down eight kills.
- Liberty outsides Kam Bacus (.391) and Kate Gammer scored 10 kills apiece, while Elizabeth Helmich hit .500 with eight kills. Erica Lowery collected 10 digs, while Charli Crowson and Charli Morris evenly split 32 assists. Madison Blane posted a match-high four blocks.
- Liberty held an early 12-10 lead in set one before WKU went on an 8-0 scoring run to take command of the set. The last seven points of the run came while Skidmore served.
- After the Hilltoppers took sets one and two, both teams hit efficiently in the third set. WKU hit .378 compared to .353 in a session which featured 13 ties and four lead changes. The guests fought off two match-point tries, but a Liberty error ended the set and match, 25-23.
- WKU is 4-0 all-time against Liberty in volleyball, including 3-0 while both teams have been members of Conference USA.
- The Hilltoppers have won each of their last 16 sets played.
