Liberty Prepares for ITA Atlantic Regional at Old Dominion

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames men's tennis team is set for its second tournament of the fall season, heading to Norfolk, Va. for the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships beginning on Thursday.
The 19-team, five-day event serves as a pathway to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships in Waco, Texas (Nov. 19-24). The tournament begins with the qualifying round on Thursday and runs through Monday. The two singles finalists and the doubles champion will receive automatic bids to the NCAA Individual Championships.
Old Dominion serves as the host for this week's events. Liberty held the event at the Liberty Tennis Complex in 2023.
The Flames hosted four programs in the Liberty Dual (Sept. 27-29) including top competition Virginia, William & Mary, Norfolk State and Navy.
All current Liberty players are set to compete in the event.
Live streaming may be available for matches played at host Old Dominion and the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

Tournament Breakdown
- Returning Liberty athletes were a combined 5-1 in singles at the 2023 ITA Atlantic Regional at Liberty. Ernst Gouws and Chase Robinson each collected a 2-1 record in singles.
- Before transferring to Liberty, Joaquim Almeida collected a 3-2 record in two ITA Atlantic Regional appearances with VCU (2021, 22).
- Sophomore Rodrigo Santiago Arraez will be competing in his first ITA Atlantic Regional. Arraez joined Liberty in January last season.
- Freshman Siwanat Auytayakul and transfer Trey Stinchcomb (Clemson) will both be participating in the event for the first time.
