BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Liberty led from start to finish in a 141-112 victory over longtime conference opponent Campbel, Saturday at Johnson Aquatic Center.
Liberty improves to 3-1 on the season with the win, including 2-1 in ASUN competition. Meanwhile, the Camels fall to 2-3, with a 1-2 conference record.

Liberty's swimming & diving team will next compete at VMI next Saturday at 11 a.m., competing in the VMI Aquatic Center in Lexington, Va., for the first time.

- For the meet, Liberty won 11 individual events and both relays, while Campbell won the 50 freestyle.
- With the outcome decided, Liberty contested the final three events as exhibitions.
- The opening event of the meet, the 200 medley relay, was decided by just .03 seconds, with Liberty winning in 1:47.02 and Campbell placing second in 1:47.05. Sydney Stricklin held off a hard-charging Elishka Hajek on the anchor leg for the narrow win.
- Liberty got individual event victories from seven different swimmers, including two each by Kamryn Cannings (100 freestyle, 100 butterfly), Shelby Kahn (200 free, 500 free), Abbie Shaw (100 backstroke, 200 backstroke) and Grace Isaacs (200 fly, 200 IM).
- Cannings has won the 200 fly at all six of Liberty's meets this season, giving her a team-leading 12 individual-event wins during the campaign. Shelby Kahn won both the 200 free and 500 free on Thursday at Gardner-Webb, while Abbie Shaw last claimed both backstroke events at the TYR '85 Invite.
- The Lady Flames posted 1-2-3 finishes in the 200 fly (Grace Isaacs, Kate Baker, Emmy Gallion) and 200 back (Abbie Shaw, Malia Francis, Sadie Stricklin) while Campbell went 1-2-3 in the 50 free (Meredith Ashburn, Elishka Hajek, Caroline Lucas).
- The Lady Flames are 44-5 all-time in dual meets contested in North Carolina. Liberty had won 41 straight dual meets inside the Tar Heel State prior to its setback at UNC Asheville Oct. 27-28, 2023.
- Liberty holds a 22-2 all-time record against Campbell in swimming & diving, with the Lady Flames winning each of the last 22 meetings. Campell is Liberty's most-frequent opponent in program history.
