No. 14 Wake Forest Tops Liberty 3-1

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 14 Wake Forest Demon Deacons used two first-half goals to down the Liberty Flames 3-1 Tuesday evening at Spry Stadium.
Leading scorer Roald Mitchell scored twice in the first half to give the host Deacons a 2-0 advantage at intermission, only to see Liberty close the gap to 2-1 on freshman Lucas Kelly's first collegiate goal early in the second half.
However, five minutes later Wake Forest's Sidney Paris netted his third goal of the season for a 3-1 advantage that the Demon Deacons never relinquished.
The setback snaps Liberty's two-game winning streak and falls to 5-2 on the season. Wake Forest moves to 4-1-3 on the year.
