Liberty hit a season-high four homers and held Iona to just one hit in an 11-0, five-inning win over the Gaels on Saturday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.

The Lady Flames (6-9) pushed their winning streak to five games in a row by claiming the first game of the Liberty Softball Invitational. Iona falls to 2-4 on the season. Liberty takes on UConn at 12:30 p.m. today.

- Liberty outhit Iona 7-1 for the game. The Lady Flames left four runners on base, while the Gaels stranded one.

- Paige Bachman (2-3) picked up her second win, striking out one while allowing four hits in four innings pitched. Emily Estroff tossed a 1-2-3 fifth inning, as Bachman and Estroff combined to face just one batter over the minimum.

- Maddy Lowry (0-1) drew the loss, allowing four runs on two hits, walking two and fanning one in one inning before giving way to Kara Zazzaro.

- Caroline Hudson went 2-for-2 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored, while Rachel Roupe batted 1-for-1 with a grand slam, five RBI and two runs scored. Mary Claire Wilson went 2-for-4 with two homers, three RBI and two runs scored, while Devyn Howard drew three walks and scored twice.

Turning Point

- The Lady Flames scored four runs in the first, on two-run homers by Hudson and Wilson. Leading 6-0 in the third, Roupe’s grand slam broke the game open, making it 10-0. Wilson’s solo homer in the fourth set the final score at 11-0.
