Lady Flames Bounce Back, Down UNC 5-1

Liberty rallied from a 1-0 deficit, defeating North Carolina 5-1 on Wednesday at Anderson Stadium.
The Lady Flames (17-10) bounced back from a loss at Duke last night, as Liberty has won 16 out of its last 17 games. The Tar Heels fall to 11-19 on the season.

Notable Numbers

- Karlie Keeney improved to 11-5 on the season, allowing one unearned run on six hits, striking out three.
- Bailey McCachren (3-5) drew the loss, yielding one run on three hits in 4 1/3 innings pitched, walking five and striking out one. Talia Hannapel and MaKenna Raye Dark finished out the game.

- North Carolina scored an unearned run in the second, but Keeney silenced the Tar Heel bats from that point on.
- Liberty responded in the fifth, scoring an unearned run of its own. Wilson led off the sixth with a double and scored the go-ahead run on a single by Craine. Howard drove in Lilly Heidorn for a 3-1 lead before Fortner’s two-run homer made it 5-1 in the seventh.
