
Liberty Field Hockey Adds Arteta and Harding to 2023 Signing Class

The Liberty field hockey squad has announced the addition of two more student-athletes to its signing class for the 2023-24 school year, Milagros Arteta and Kaia Harding.
Arteta hails from Cordoba, Argentina and will be transferring to Liberty after playing for Boston College for two years. Harding is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina and will be joining the Lady Flames as a freshman.
Arteta and Kaia Harding join a signing class which also includes Nicole Enslin, Ashlee Bucksar, Delfina Dell Anna, Madie Baker, Olivia Kirkpatrick, Regan Worley and Kiley Stoltzfus.
Milagros Arteta (M/F – Cordoba, Argentina/Superior School of Commerce Manuel Belgrano (Boston College)
Arteta is a forward/midfielder who hails from Cordoba, Argentina and will be a grad transfer or Liberty after playing for the Boston College Eagles for two seasons. In her two years with the Eagles, she appeared in all 36 games, making 14 starts. Arteta totaled eight goals, four assists and 20 points in those two seasons.
During her first season at Boston College in the fall of 2021, she tied for the team lead in goals and had one assist and 13 points (second on team). Arteta scored game-winning goals against No. 9 Maryland and No. 12 Connecticut. During her senior season, she appeared in all games, making 11 starts. Arteta finished with two goals, three assists and seven points.
“The coaching staff has proved to develop not only great players but people and relations, and that really resonates with who I am,” Arteta said.
Prior to her time at Boston College, Arteta appeared in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games for Argentina. She competed for the La Salle Hockey Club for seven years (2014-20), guiding her team to its first club championship in history in 2019.
Kaia Harding (F – Charlotte, N.C./Stellenbosch, South Africa/Rhenish Girls’ High School)
Harding, a forward, currently resides in Charlotte, N.C. but grew up in Stellenbosch, South Africa. She reached the highest level of field hockey at the prep level in her home country, competing for the South African Regional Team.
Upon her arrival in the United States, Harding made the USA National Field Hockey Squad at the 2021 Nexus Championship. In South Africa, she has competed for the Somerset West Hockey Club (2019-23), playing on the first squad the last two years and on the second squad from 2019-21.
“I can’t wait to incorporate my faith with playing field hockey at Liberty. Let’s win the NCAA championship,” Harding said.
Some of Harding’s accomplishments at the club level include winning the finals from 2019-21 and finishing as semifinalists in 2022. Harding has also competed in water polo, track & field, tennis and swimming in high school.
“She is quick on attack, able to use her speed to get ahead. She is very athletic, which is
something you want in the striker line. Kaia will be a real asset to your team at Liberty!”
