The No. 18 Southern Miss Golden Eagles defeated the Liberty Flames 7-2, Sunday in their series finale at Pete Taylor Park.
Liberty catcher Gray Betts went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Right fielder Camden Troyer hit his first home run of the season for the Flames.
Liberty drops to 0-3. Southern Miss moves to 3-0.

After a pitching change, Southern Miss right-hander Billy Oldham ended the Flames’ threat by retiring the next two batters.

- Betts becomes the first Flame to record a three-hit game in 2023. The senior has had 12 games in his career with three or more hits in a game.
- Troyer hit his first home run in a Liberty uniform and the first by a Flame this season. The outfielder is in his first season at Liberty after transferring from Clemson.
