ASHEVILLE, N.C. - After day one of competition in Asheville, N.C., the host UNC Asheville Bulldogs lead Liberty 108-97.

Liberty and UNC Asheville will complete this weekend's meet tomorrow, with swimming beginning at 11 a.m. at Justice Center Pool.

- Sr. Heather Gardner – 100 breaststroke (1:05.42)
- Fr. Kamryn Cannings –100 butterfly (55.75)
- Today's meet featured a unique format, as diving took place at the Asheville Jewish Community Center, with swimming happening later on at Justice Center Pool. Two finals of one-meter diving were contested, with Liberty building a 32-6 lead by sweeping the top three scoring spots in both rounds.
- Liberty won one relay event and three individual swimming races, while UNC Asheville claimed four individual events and the 400 free relay.
- Liberty's Maddie Freece and Mary Herndon both picked up their first win of the season today, while Kamryn Cannings earned her fifth victory of the campaign and Abbie Shaw and Heather Gardner both won for the second time in 2023-24.
- In swimming events, UNC Asheville was the only team to sweep the top three spots in an event, doing so in the 100 IM.
- Maddie Freece (270.00), Caroline Stamps (269.25) and Mary Herndon (268.35) all posted NCAA Zone-qualifying scores today.
- Liberty posted its fastest time of the season to date in the 200 medley relay (1:44.05). Also, Abbie Shaw's 2:00.98 was the fastest 200 backstroke by an ASUN swimming so far this season.
- Liberty freshman Caroline Stamps is now fifth on the Lady Flames' all-time Top 10 performers list in one-meter diving with her 269.25 from today. Meanwhile, sophomore Mary Herndon's 268.35 is rated sixth.
