Liberty sixth-year senior Ayanna Johnson wrapped up her collegiate career with a 19th-place finish in the women’s long jump, Thursday at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field.
The first Lady Flame ever to long jump at this meet, Johnson reached 19-7.5 on her first of three attempts Thursday evening. That stood up for 19th place among the 24 competitors in Eugene.
Johnson’s distinguished career saw her break the Liberty indoor (19-10.25) and outdoor (20-8) program records. The New Oxford, Pa., native was a five-time All-ASUN performer, highlighted by a 2021 indoor long jump conference title. All this despite suffering an ACL tear early on in her time at Liberty.
