
Lady Flames Down South Alabama 8-2, Wrap Up 5-0 Weekend

Liberty wrapped up a 5-0 weekend at THE Spring Games, downing South Alabama 8-2 on Sunday at Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex.
The Lady Flames even their season record at 5-5, completing a two-week, 10-game trip to Florida. South Alabama falls to 1-8 on the season.

Notable Numbers
- Liberty outhit South Alabama 7-6 for the game, while the Jaguars committed the game’s only error. The Jaguars left six runners on base, compared to five runners stranded for the Lady Flames.
- Karlie Keeney (3-2) picked up her third win of the week, striking out a career-high eight batters in the complete-game effort. She allowed two runs on six hits, allowing one walk.
- Allie Hughen (0-2) drew the loss, allowing five runs on two hits, walking two, striking out two and hitting one in one inning pitched. Jenna Hardy (2 2/3 IP) and Olivia Lackie (3 1/3 IP) combined to pitch the last six innings.

Turning Point
- Liberty scored early and often, breaking the game open with a four-run second inning. Canetto delivered a two-run single to make it 4-0, before Devyn Howard’s sacrifice fly pushed the lead to 5-0.
- Raigan Barrett’s homer sparked a three-run Liberty fourth inning. The Jaguars broke up Keeney’s shutout bid in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run double, but that ended the scoring.
Beyond the Box Score
- Liberty and South Alabama are now tied 1-1 in the all-time series. The 23rd-ranked Jaguars won the first meeting in the series, an 8-0 victory in Gulf Shores, Ala., to open the 2015 season.
