
Parra Romero Drops Qualifying Match to No. 58 Stoiana

Maria Juliana Parra Romero of the Liberty women’s tennis team dropped her qualifying match to Texas A&M’s No. 58 Mary Stoiana on day three of the ITA All-American Championships, Monday at Cary Tennis Park.
Stoiana bested Parra Romero in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. The Liberty sophomore will play one more match, a qualifying consolation contest, tomorrow.
Yesterday, Parra Romero become the first Liberty player in program history to win three matches at the ITA Women’s All-American Championships, besting Arizona State’s Patricija Spaka and Charlotte’s Margaux Maquet. On Saturday, Parra Romero knocked off Texas’ Vivian Ovrootsky in her first pre-qualifying match.
