In a defensive battle throughout the evening, the North Florida Ospreys broke through for the game’s only goal late for a 1-0 victory over the Liberty Flames in an ASUN match, Friday evening at Hodges Stadium.
After playing 77 scoreless minutes, Ospreys defender L.J. Estes scored off a corner kick to put the host team in front and then held off a late charge by the Flames for the win.
Liberty falls to 3-6-5 overall and 1-4-2 in ASUN play. North Florida improves to 3-7-4 overall and 2-3-2 in the ASUN.

Turning Point
After UNF took a 1-0 lead at 77:36, Liberty pressured the Ospreys’ defense, looking for the equalizer. In the 86th minute, Flames forward Gabe Findley jumped in front of a UNF clearing attempt and pushed the ball head for fellow forward Luke Eberle. Gaining the box in free space, Eberle ripped a shot that hit the goal’s crossbar and deflected over.
