Liberty women's tennis player Maria Juliana Parra Romero continued her run of excellence on the second day of play at the ITA All-American Championships, winning two more matches against strong competition.
Parra Romero is the first Lady Flame in program history to win three matches at the ITA Women's All-American Championships.
A day after knocking Vivian Ovrootsky of two-time defending national champion in three sets (4-6, 6-2, 7-5) in pre-qualifying, Parra Romero won two more matches on Sunday at Cary Tennis Park. With the victories, the sophomore from Bucaramanga, Colombia has punched her ticket to the qualifying draw, which begins on Monday.
Thoughts From Head Coach Jeff Maren
"Once again, Juli has represented Liberty well by creating history at All-Americans. I couldn't be more proud of her determination to play at her highest level against some of the best competition in the country. To God be the glory!"
