- After playing five of its first six games on the road, Liberty will return home for its first ASUN home match of fall of 2021. The Flames will host FGCU. The two teams have met only twice, both in conference play since Liberty joined the ASUN in 2018. FGCU has won both meetings.
- Liberty opened ASUN Conference play with a 2-1 win at Stetson, Saturday. Noah Holmes gave the Flames a 1-0 lead on a first-half goal and Michael Huss scored the game-winner late in the second half of the victory. Goalkeeper Richard Franzen made a career-high six saves in his second Liberty start.
- Liberty has scored eight goals and allowed eight goals through its first six games. During its three-game winning streak, the Flames have outscored their opponents, 7-2. Liberty began its winning streak with a 3-0 win at Radford on Sept. 11., its lone shutout of the season so far.
- Holmes leads the Flames with four goals. The forward has scored a goal in three of the four games he has played in this season. The forward is tied for third in the ASUN Conference in goals scored.
- Four other Flames have each scored one goal apiece. Freshman Michael Catanzarite and Jarrod McKechnie each have registered the first goal of their collegiate careers, while Marko Mitrevski and Huss have each scored a goal.
- Midfielder Seth Clark leads the Flames with three assists. Catanzarite is second with two assists.
- Freshman forward Michael Catanzarite is second to Holmes with four points. The freshman has either a goal or assisted on a goal in each of the last three games.
- All three goalkeepers on Liberty’s roster made at least one start so far this season. The Flames have posted a 1.30 team goals against average. Franzen has started each of the last two games for Liberty and has allowed two goals, both penalty kicks while posting a .800 save percentage.
- Liberty will face Wake Forest for the first time since 2000 on the soccer pitch, Tuesday. The Flames enter the week 2-3 in non-conference action.
- After scoring three goals during the week, Noah Holmes was named the ASUN Player of the Week for Sept. 14. Holmes netted his first goal of the season in a 2-1 loss at George Washington on Sept. 7, before posting the first multi-goal game of his career with two goals in Liberty’s 3-0 victory at Radford on Sept. 11.
