Liberty exploded for a program-record 11 first-inning runs, dominating Longwood 19-3 in five innings on Saturday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
The Lady Flames (12-5) have opened the Liberty Softball Invitational with wins over ECU and Longwood, improving to 6-1 on their current 11-game homestand. Longwood (3-9) went 1-1 today, beginning with a 2-1, eight-inning victory over East Carolina this afternoon.
