Liberty Notables

Liberty remained unbeaten in 2021 by going 1-0-1, last week. The Flames downed Radford at home on Feb. 17 and then played James Madison to a 0-0 tie, this past Sunday in Harrisonburg, Va.
Liberty is unbeaten through its first four games of the season for the first time since 1997. The 1997 Flames began the season 8-0 to start the year.
Liberty has posted four consecutive shutouts for the first time since 2009. The Flames have not allowed a goal, outscoring their opponents, 9-0. Last season, Liberty had two shutouts in 18 games.
For the first time in his two seasons at Liberty, Musa Morris scored more than one goal in a game, netting two in the Flames' win over Radford, last week. Morris leads Liberty with seven points (3g, 1a) and is tied for the team lead with three goals.
Freshman forward Michael Huss enters Thursday's contest tied with Morris for the team lead with three goals. Huss scored his third goal of the season in Liberty's victory over Radford.
Sophomore goalkeeper Danny Cordero has played all 360 minutes in goal for the Flames, this season. Cordero has made 17 saves.
Liberty and North Carolina will be meeting for the sixth time, Thursday. The two teams will be meeting for the first time since 2010. The Flames have never defeated the Tar Heels.
