
No. 9 Liberty Earns Dominant 6-1 Win at Temple, Friday

No. 9 Liberty scored the last five goals of the game on the way to a dominant 6-1 victory over host Temple, Friday afternoon at Howarth Field.
Liberty improves to 11-2 on the season and remains the only unbeaten team in the BIG EAST at 5-0. The Lady Flames have outscored conference foes 26-3 in those five victories. Liberty runs its overall winning streak to eight games.
Temple falls to 7-6 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Liberty junior forward Daniella Rhodes notched her third career three-goal game in today's victory. Lady Flames senior midfielder Lizzie Hamlett recordded two goals in the contest, her second two-goal match of the year. Junior defender Bethany Dykema tallied a goal and an assist in the win.

Turning Point
Liberty and Temple were tied 1-1 after one quarter of action before striking for two goals in the second quarter to go ahead 3-1. The go-ahead goal came from Hamlett in the 20th minute, as she tipped a Rhodes penalty corner sweep into the left side of the cage for her sixth goal of the season.
Rhodes scored her second goal of the day at the 21:22 mark for a two-goal Liberty lead. Leading 3-1 at halftime, the Lady Flames added three goals in the third period (Dykema, Rhodes and Hamlett) to push the advantage to five goals.
